Crate&Barrel
Contemporary Living Room
This project explores a contemporary residential apartment interior defined by architectural restraint, subtle tonal contrast, and controlled natural light. Developed as a personal concept study, the space investigates how modern furniture and refined material selection can coexist within a structured architectural envelope.
The focus lies in achieving elegance without excess.
The interior layout, material palette, and furniture selection were fully developed as part of the study.
Afternoon light was carefully positioned to create controlled shadow gradients across the paneled wall, reinforcing depth and architectural rhythm. The lighting is intentionally moody yet natural, avoiding dramatic contrast while preserving spatial clarity.
Furniture pieces, including selections inspired by Crate & Barrel, were curated to support a refined, contemporary aesthetic without overpowering the architecture.
The marble fireplace serves as a material focal point, introducing texture and subtle contrast within an otherwise restrained palette.
